Language standards

Pascal
The first standard definitions of "classic" Pascal date from 1983. They are ISO 7185:1983 & ANSI/IEEE 770X3.97-1983, which were in effect identical in most respects, but did contain some differences. The former was revised in 1990 as ISO 7185:1990, and this version was adopted by ANSI in 1993.

Extended Pascal
Extended Pascal is defined in ISO 10206:1991 & ANSI/IEEE 770X3.160-1989, which are identical in technical content. The Object Oriented extensions were published as ANSI Technical Report X3/TR-13:1994.

Fortran
The first Fortran standard in the present context is that known as "Fortran-77", namely ANSI X3.9-1978. A major set of upward-compatible extensions were approved in 1991 ("Fortran 90"), and some clarifications and a few further additions were incorporated in "Fortran 95", ISO/IEC 1539:1997, which is the current standard.
